A word that usually describes an experience that stimulates an array of our sensory radars. How lucky we feel when we find ourselves deep in such an experience and how easy we forget all about it when we return in our mundane routines. Wouldn’t it be great if we tried to embrace each and every day as a an opportunity to engage all our senses and recognize the uniqueness of each moment? Well.. easier said than done for sure. Try adding mini escapes to your everyday routine, from mini breathwork breaks, to a mini session of your favorite workout or taking sometime to dance to your favorite music, a slightly longer bath soak or walk in nature. My high lately are evening hikes on the mountain of Ymittos (the best sunset and great views of the city up until the sea of Piraeus) with my dear friend @effie.e

Still emerging from the depths of winter and trying to adapt to the abundance of daylight.
Seasonal shifts can take a toll on our mental and physical health.
Personally I find the leap from winter to spring the hardest, always struggling with all that extrovert energy taking over.
If you correlate, take it easy and do not hesitate to pause and take a step backwards, dedicate some time to yourself alone and find practices that support you throughout this transition.
Spring after all is the season of focused decisions, strategy and decluttering.

of our winter cocoon to move safely and smoothly into spring and eventually summer, is a longevity practice.
Somatic practices help with body awareness and allow us to connect to our inner organs in a deeper level.
There is always an emotional aspect to every transition .
Spring in TCM associates with the element of wood and the liver and gallbladder qi.
Emotional discords such as anger, frustration, irritability, indecisiveness, resentment, lack of motivation are indicators of a liver/gallbladder imbalance.
Healthy amounts of qi flowing harmonically through those meridians translates into embracing a forgiving spirit, empathy, filling inspired and passionate about your visions and self empowered enough to make decisions without second thoughts.
Try eliminating stress factors and bad lifestyle choices like alcohol, smoking, non healthy fats, sugar and sleep deprivation to help the two dominant spring organs and prevent emotional buildup.
Let’s embrace the fascinating nature and never ending mysteries of the human body.

In our #BodyA practices we use polarities and metaphor to ignite our imagination and help us manipulate our fascia and therefore our muscle tissue and bone structure (remember: fascia wraps around every single organ| bone| muscle fiber…).
Strength and engagement go hand in hand with stretching when it comes to manipulating your fascia in order to enhance overall flexibility.
Overstretching is harmful and inefficient in the long run (imagine an overstretched rubber band :| “ouch”…).

It is only normal to pause and withdraw from the hypersocial and hyperactive energetic field of the past seasons and lay the fertile ground for your creativity to arise. The way you practice and you choose to move and experience your body is a creative process and has the power to transform the habits of the mind. Winter solstice marks the official entrance into the most dark soft quite and yin season of the year.
Time to Drop our fight or flight attitude and enter into rest and digest mode.
The ugly truth is that we forget about that during the holiday season and we end up doing and worrying even more than usual.
This winter try to make some room for selfcare. Room for quite time.
Room for alone time.
Room to meet yourself and face your truths.
Room to plant seeds for the future.
Room to dream and visualize.
It’s not easy but it does pay off in the long run. Since you will always have to live with yourself you might as well enjoy your own company.
In that spirit we will take a break from our practices until the 9th of January. However I will be here to support you in your quest of a home practice in any way I can (questions, tips etc).

This winter we will address our depths. Winter in TCM is kidney and bladder season. Time to dig deep and confront your phobias, your innermost fears and insecurities. Time to focus on your primal needs (sex food money water) and make amends with your past.
In the physical realm kidneys are connected directly to the heart through the aorta and they even stem from the same germ layer during gastrulation, sharing fascial tissue from the very early stages of our existence. Together with the bladder and their little hats, the adrenals they are the grand filtration system of our bodies and part of the elimination metabolic function, they manage water intake and they also produce an array of hormones establishing a line of communication with our brains and the rest of our organs.
Kidney Qi imbalance can result in an array of symptoms ranging from Heart arrhythmia, brain fog, bone problems, knee issues, reproductive organs malfunction to poor digestion, diarrhea, low libido, hair loss, phobias, obsessions, compulsive behavior and the list goes on..
Find the courage to confront your depths and enjoy your own company.
